L’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II (UCLV, CHU Naples, Italie) is one of the main specialized centers in Italy for the management of rare ophthalmological diseases. This center combines clinical excellence, translational research, and cutting-edge clinical trials, in close connection with the European Reference Networks (ERNs) and several international cooperation programs.
Institut Imagine
A national and European leader in rare genetic diseases, with globally recognized expertise in mechanistic biology, diagnostics, and therapeutics, the Institut Imagine of Genetic Diseases is a University Hospital Institute (IHU) equipped with a unique ecosystem for research and innovation, located on the Necker–Enfants Malades university hospital campus.
The IHU encompasses more than 1,000 researchers, engineers, technicians, physicians, and allied health professionals. This hub of research, care, and education closely integrates basic research, clinical research, and technology transfer to accelerate discoveries and more effectively combat these severe diseases.
CERTO & CNRS
The CERTO (Center for Therapeutic Studies and Research in Ophthalmology), a private laboratory of the Retina France association and part of the NeuroPSI institute (CNRS – University of Paris-Saclay), brings together around 350 people. In addition to its internal research projects, CERTO develops research partnerships with academic laboratories and biotechnology companies.
As part of this mission, CERTO establishes national and international collaborations with renowned institutions, including in France: the CNRS, Institut Curie, Institut de la Vision, and the Montpellier Neuroscience Institute.
